Our Beliefs

Millbrook Christian Assembly is a church for anyone - but we recognize we may not be a church for everyone when it comes to style, music, or even doctrine. The beauty of the body of Christ is its diversity. While there are a few essential truths that Christians around the world hold in common, we know that differences in belief and practice can exist - even between churches in the same town. And that’s okay!

Clarity is a kindness, and so we want to be clear about about the core beliefs we have as a church. MCA is affiliated with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. Below, you can learn more below about the doctrinal beliefs we subscribe to here at MCA.

  • The Trinity

We believe that there is one God, the creator, who exists eternally in unity as three equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The triune God is loving, holy, infinite, just, and worthy of all worship.

  • The Bible

The Bible is the written revelation of God’s character and saving purposes for humanity and for all creation. We believe that the Bible is true and trustworthy. The Holy Spirit who inspired the Bible enables its interpretation and application.

  • Creation

God created and sustains the heavens and the earth, and all of creation reflects His glory. He made humanity—both male and female—in His image and entrusted us with the responsibility to care for the world as faithful stewards (the earth and our fellow human beings).

Through human rebellion, sin and death entered the world, and we stepped out of relationship with God, distorting His good creation.

  • Salvation

Salvation is God’s gift, offered to all people through the loving and redemptive work of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Out of obedience to the Father, Jesus gave His life as a ransom for us. Though He was without sin, He took our sin upon Himself and gave his life so we could be made right with God. Salvation is for anyone who, by God’s grace, turns from sin and puts their faith in Him as Lord.

To be saved means receiving the Holy Spirit, being forgiven, born again, and brought back into right relationship with God and others. It also means being set free from the power of sin and darkness, and becoming part of God’s kingdom.

We are a new Creation in Christ - pretty cool eh? We think so!

  • The Baptism in the Holy Spirit

On the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2), Jesus poured out the promised Holy Spirit on the church. He continues to baptize believers in the Holy Spirit today, empowering them to share the good news of God’s kingdom in both word and action to every corner of the earth.

This experience is available for everyone, male and female, of every age, status, and ethnicity.

  • The Church

Jesus Christ is the head of the church. All who are united with Him are joined by the Spirit to His body. Each local church expresses the universal church’s mission to participate in God’s work of restoring all things.

Central to the church is the transforming presence of God, experienced through worship, prayer, proclamation, discipleship, and fellowship—including water baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism by immersion symbolizes our identification with Christ’s death and resurrection. The Lord’s Supper proclaims His body and blood and our unity, anticipating His return.

The Spirit gives gifts to the church to minister in love, bear witness to Christ, and build up the church. Both women and men are empowered as leaders to equip the church for its mission.

  • Restoration

We believe that Jesus is coming back one day—and that’s our great hope. When He returns, He’ll make all things right: raising the dead, transforming the living, and completing the work He started when He first came.

Jesus will bring justice, defeat evil, and restore all of creation. Those who have put their trust in Him will enjoy eternal life in God’s presence—where there’s no more death, pain, or sorrow.
